Airport stress
Istanbul, the hub where we need to get our plane to Kirgistan. When we land the gate already opens for our Bishkek flight. The current plane takes a lot of time to go to the right gate so it must be an enormous aiport. We don’t have time to wander around. We need to go from gate D to F, my father asks a guy to double check. and he confirms and says: “You should run.”
Marloes says: “No, he doesn’t mean that, right?” Since I arrived in a delayed bus in Porto at 18:15 and my flight to Amsterdam would leave 18:40 the other day, I am not planning to run again. Obviously gate F is on the other side of the airport, so we walk very fast and eventually we do run. We keep the gate open for my dad, who is not a runner and arrives as the last passenger.
Turkish airlines flight is half empty
After failing check-in actions to sit net to each other, the woman at the check-in counter in Schiphol can arrange the seats next to each other from Istanbul to Bishkek. The flight is only half filled with passengers and since we are the last ones, we immediately take the whole rows of three to seat.
Out of breath we wonder if our luggage is able to move as fast as we did….
At the baggage claim in Bishkek, the belt stops after ten minutes, all people leave and a handful is left without. It is not lost, just delayed I guess. The man promises to send it to our hotel in the afternoon. We leave the baggage claim and our guide Adel, is waiting for us! Great, let hour holiday in Kirgistan start.

Hello Bishkek Damas Hotel 6:00
I made a mistake planning no extra night (early check-in) in our hotel. I thought 6:00 is already the start of the day so we just go explore Bishkek, but there is a time difference. So actually, for us it is just past midnight and it would be healthy to sleep a bit. The guide says the hotel is booked, ignoring our instructions from a while ago. We just go to the room to sleep, happy they didn’t listen and booked it.
Three ours later, we get up because we do like to have breakfast and start our day.
The three photo’s below are from our hotel. Bishkek is booming: They are building everywhere. When we look out of our window we already have one project to see. So we have nice things for Marloes to look at (she is a building engineer).
We have a sauna across our room! We relax a bit and then just before we go out again for dinner, it starts to rain heavily, with hail. It is only for 15 minutes but we have a flood outside our hotel. We had to walk carefully to keep our shoes dry.

The first day was a nice day, We walked to all the interesting sights. It was a holiday we saw a lot of people strolling around, the sun was shining. And tomorrow we start our tour with our guide Adel.
