August Holdiay Month!
It is warm in Portugal: It is August The first tourists booked their holiday in Casa da Lima via the Booking website. Excited, it turns out the French family loves our Casinha! I didn’t know what to expect from our first tourist guests: a father, mother, and two children from La Rochelle. Should I cook for them or make breakfast? But, Je ne parle pas Francais. I forgot all what I learned in my first four years of high school.
I decided to welcome them with a bowl of fruit, and since they had children, I thought they might enjoy the 3 Cs: chips, cookies, and chocolate so I had another bowl for them. In this way they forget that I don’t speak French.
Nobody at Home
I didn’t know when they would arrive. I was at home all day but at night I left for my Padel sport. They called around eight to say they would arrive later but within half hour. They were able to enter and when I returned, they were already having dinner on our patio! So luckily it was no problem at all for them.
It turns out they are quite self-sufficient. They had already been to a supermarket, brought a water boiler and a cooler, and yesterday they asked me for a pan to cook their pasta. I suppose you can cook pasta with a water boiler too.
Run and Go Out!
One of the first questions the man asked: “Where could we run.”
“Run?!” I pointed to my running shoes and outfit to make sure I understood him well, yes I did. I told them that they were surrounded by great running routes, flat ones and more difficult ones. Now I know that they would love our place, especially by daylight. Both parents run every morning, and even the children run short distances with them. Our place is perfect for them, as they have a safe route on a dirt road with a lot of different beautiful trails to explore.
They go out for the whole day, and only return in the evening. Visiting Nazaré, other sightseeing spots, and swimming pools, they are in the middle of amazing tourists sightseeing places in Portugal.
Happy to see that Casa da Lima is also perfect for families.
Welcome and relax: tourists, runners, cyclists, hikers, and pilgrims!
