Day 0 to Vigo

Puzzle: How to get to Santiago?

What a puzzle: How to go to our starting point? Finally we have it all figured out. We go by car to Coimbra, leave the car there, walk a half hour to warm up our muscles, take the Flixbus to Vigo, and walk a little while, to our alberque in the centre to cool down our muscles.

The plastic bag contains six grapefruits, one for every morning. It is kind of heavy but it is my breakfast, very healthy. 6 o’clock there is nothing else open and you know the health freak in me: breakfast is important.

Day 0 Casa da Lima, (Ribeira de Alcalamouque Pt) to Vigo (Spain)

We walk out of the bus and have to walk for half hour to our Hostel Real, in the old center of Vigo. We stop at the first restaurant we see ‘DaVID’. What a treat, a very delicious, really haute cuisine, menu do dia for €14. We are lucky!
Our hostel is a lovely clean place with a very friendly old hostess. We get our first credential, our first stamp for our pilgrims passport. The stamp was not specially made for this purpose, because it says: Pagado.
We go out to see the harbour and old city of Vigo. And we see a seafood street…  Tonight we will eat at Rua da ostras.

It was heavenly. Unfortunately the crab attacked Jaap-Willem, and he left the place with a deep cut, in his right hand, which was bleeding a lot. Luckily the waitress took care of it.

Read further about this caminho on my blog Day 1 to 6.
