Casa da Lima in Central Portugal

Discover Coimbra, Ribeira de Alcalamouque, an authentic village experience

Central Portugal, also known as Beiras or Centro, is a diverse region filled with nature, culture, and you have easy access to the coast, featuring spots like Nazaré, Peniche and Figueira da Foz.

The famous fado city of Coimbra is just a 30-minute drive away. Known for its historic university and stunning library, you really should visit, Coimbra is a vibrant student city with a lively and welcoming atmosphere.

Beiras is also renowned for its authentic schist villages, already near the beach river of Sao Simao, as well as Roman ruins in Conímbriga, Rabaçal, and Santiago da Guarda—all just a 10-40 minute drive from Casa da Lima. Don’t miss Tomar, the Templar city a little bit further, with its impressive castle, or the historic monastery in Alcobaça and the monumental Batalha—both must-see destinations.

Where we are, in the peaceful countryside, you can enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Meet friendly locals at the village café Adeil, where the barman may offer you an aguardente (local brandy), and experience the charm of the baker delivering fresh bread right to your door.

The area around Casa da Lima is perfect for those who love walking, with plenty of space to explore the greenery, peace, and quiet.
